Hello Decor Friends,
Today we are rounding out our 3 week mini series. “Crisp, cozy & classic”. Today we are talking all things classic, but to be clear, when I say classic I do not mean traditional style, in the sense of brocade fabric, ornate wood carvings and heavy drapery. When I refer to classic, I mean timeless design elements that have staying power. For those of you who are more one and done decorators these few tips may be just what you are looking for.
This is what timeless style looks like to me;
Timeless design has staying power
It is not trendy, it is not a fad,
Your style is considered relevant today and years from now.
Sense of balance and order
It is not over the top
It is not boring
Neutrals have a strong presence in timeless design
Mixing old with new
So how can you invite some timeless styling into your home for this fall? Think clean lines and classic colors. Warm caramel, burnt orange, chocolate browns, rich reds, and leafy greens will always pop against a neutral timeless backdrop. Think focal points and have a less is more attitude. Instead of scattering branch’s or leaves all over your home, pick one beautiful vessel and fill it. A focal point is timeless. Knick-knacks and tchotchkes have no place in a timeless decor style. Love pumpkins, fill up a large dough bowl with pumpkins, keeping them contained and not scattered around your home will help create that classic experience to your home.
Be inspired by these “classic” fall decor ideas for both inside and outside your home.
Bye for Now
