Hello Decor Friends,
I thought it would be fun to share a peek behind the scenes—10 quick updates I made in clients' homes this week that made a big impact. Hopefully, they’ll spark a few ideas for your own space, too!
1. Swap out your lampshades.
It’s amazing what a new shade can do! Whether you go for a bold color, a fun pattern, or a different shape, a fresh lampshade can completely transform the look of a lamp and update the style of the whole room.
2. Restyle your mantel.
Candlesticks and candles are small but mighty. Switching up your mantel decor with new holders or a seasonal arrangement instantly adds charm and interest.
3. Bring in something green.
Every room benefits from a bit of life. Add a potted plant, fresh flowers, or even a high-quality faux option to introduce color, texture, and a sense of calm.
4. Create a styled vignette.
Group a few meaningful or visually cohesive decor pieces together on a console, sideboard, or table. It’s an easy way to create a beautiful focal point with personality.
5. Refresh your artwork or family photos.
Swapping out art or updating your frames can give your walls a whole new vibe. Don’t be afraid to move things around or try a new gallery-style layout!
6. Add a garden stool.
This versatile piece works hard and looks good doing it. Use it as a side table, extra seat, or just a stylish accent in any room.
7. Try peel-and-stick wallpaper.
Want to make a statement? Add peel-and-stick wallpaper to one wall for an instant dose of pattern, color, or texture—with zero commitment.
8. Hang new curtains.
Switching up your window treatments is one of the easiest ways to make a room feel fresh. Try a new color, print, or fabric for an instant lift.
9. Bring in a mirror.
Mirrors reflect light and open up a space, making any room feel brighter and bigger. Hang one where it can bounce light around and visually expand the space.
10. Lay down a new rug.
Rugs are game changers. A new rug can set the tone for a room, pull all the elements together, and add comfort underfoot.
Designer Tip
You don’t have to do it all at once! Even one or two of these updates can breathe new life into a space you’ve grown a little tired of.
Happy decorating.
Until Next Time,
~Tatum
