Light it up!

Hey Decor Friends,

Today as promised I’m going to chat about pendant lighting, placement tips and mixing metallics in lighting.

You know that one of the easiest and quickest ways to update a space is to change out lighting fixtures.

One question I am frequently asked is about mixing metals and styles in an open concept home.

Quick answer is yes, you can mix metals, but stick to two metal finish’s so your home looks intentional and cohesive.

Yes you can mix styles but you want to keep some cohesion. Ways you can achieve this is by repeating a shape, a metallic finish or material like wood, rattan, metal.

Designer Tip

When you are choosing your metals, consider in an open floor plan you already have metallic in your kitchen pulls and knobs- that would count as one color.

You also need to consider if you have drapery rods. Typically rods are a metallic finish so keep that color in mind when researching your lighting options.

I hope this has given you something to think about and you will feel more confident when purchasing lighting for your home.

Bye For Now
