Plant Shelf

Hello Decor Friends,

Today I wanted to give you a few tips on how you can create your very own plant wall. If you have been hanging around here for awhile you know that greenery is my love language. Fresh or faux there is nothing like greenery to make a dark corner, a light area, or any space in your home pop.

These tips are for creating a fresh plant wall, but remember you can mix in faux as well.

PLANT WALL SHELF TIPS

  • Pick a wall in your home that gets a good amount of indirect light. Most houseplants are happiest with indirect light (meaning, the sun doesn’t hit their leaves directly) and they generally want a lot of it.

  • Be sure to use drip trays. This is especially important if you have wood shelves! There is maintenance in keeping those fresh plants looking their best.

  • Start small and build up. If you’re new to being a plant mama, it’s probably best that you take your time building up your collection. Start with just 1-2 plants. You can grow your collection over time, and won’t break the bank when you start out. Mix in books, picture frames and other personalized items. Your shelves will be a representation of you, exactly what home should be.

  • Choose a variety of textures and shapes! When it comes to choosing your plants, you’re going to want to choose types of plants with different textures and colors. Like we talk about in all home decor, texture, shape and color make huge impact when grouping items together!

  • Know what plants work best for you! A few favorite beginner plants for these shelves include pothos, a snake plant, and small succulents.

There you have it friends. Wether you are adding some greenery or trying out a plant wall, you will never regret adding a little green into your life.

Bye For Now,

~Tatum
